Firstly, a big thank you to all of you who made it to the rehearsal. We've made an improvement today and could get through the whole song. However...

I'm going to be completely honest with everyone. You may agree with me, or disagree, but this is what I saw from today's rehearsal.

- LEARN THE LYRICS! A copy was sent out to everyone a whole week ago and we made it clear to learn the lyrics. So many of you have said that you know the song, but how come some of you didn't know when to come in for your parts today? The performance is on Saturday, you should've learnt the lyrics off by heart already. No one will be looking at their copy of lyrics during rehearsals from now on (you still have to bring them to make notes). Learn the lyrics tmr, won't take you long, the song keeps repeating itself anyway.

-LEARN THE SONG! Listen to it at least 5 times everyday, from now till the performance (I listen to it at least 30 times everyday, excluding rehearsals, so you won't get sick from listening to it for 5). some of you are still not getting your parts right. Practise at home, sing in the shower, hum to yourself. Even if you're unsure of the note, sing it right out loud. If you're confident, the note will come out right. Get used to the mood of the song: it's above love and unity, and you guys sound like its the end of the world. can we bring in a bit of life?

- you guys aren't paying attention. I have to raise my voice (Ginger has to pound on the piano) to get you guys on stage, to start singing, to come in at the right times. And even when I shout/sing with you guys (sorry about my voice, I know its horrible)/signal you guys half the ppl come in a beat later. I won't be conducting that night. We all have to learn to come in at the right times, and ON BEAT, not a half a beat earlier, not a whole beat later.

-adding on to the last point: please listen! be alert! If you sing without listening to the piano, how are u going to be on beat? and please listen and look at me during the song, especially when you don't know when to come in. I have to keep running between groups, pointing at people to get them coming into their parts. If you don't know where to come in, look at me so I que you in, and REMEMBER/make note of when your que is. We don't want to keep repeating the same mistakes.

-Can we all get serious and sing whole heartedly, be more committed, and be a bit more responsible for our actions? I actually have to tell people off for fooling around and acting silly, and its been going on through all of the rehearsals. When you mess about you won't be able to hear the instructions, the piano, and you come in at the wrong parts, and everyone has to start all over again. Do we really have to stop every time someone messes up and start all over again to get you guys to pay attention? I don't want to sound like some bossy person telling people off every 10 or so minutes, but I didn't exactly have a choice today. I don't want to boss you guys around, and Ginger doesn't either. To be frank, we don't want to act like bitches screeching at you guys. Please stop fooling around during rehearsal and stop talking during the singing, we haven't got time for that.

-Rehearsals take long, and not everyone's involved for the whole rehearsal. What I mean is sometimes Ginger and I have to rehearse with people individually, and we can't rehearse with everyone else. But you guys could still rehearse on your own, instead of fooling around and getting restless. This is what rehearsals are like, you've just gotta be patient and wait for your turn.

-This is a group song. Just cuz you know you're part doesn't mean it's gonna be fine in the group performance. That's why we keep stressing on group rehearsals. And right now, we haven't even got a single bit of 默契 between us: do you know how the person you're standing next to sounds? Do you know when exactly he or she's going to come in, and being on beat at the same time?

Rehearsal

1. Monday lunctime everyone in music room 12:55 sharp; no ifs, ands, or buts. Eat your lunch at break. No one's going to leave the room to buy food, and you won't be chomping on any sandwiches either. It's gonna be a full 45 minute rehearsal, 1 hour 10 min rehearsal if you're staying for pastoral. DON'T GET YOURSELF INTO LUNCH TIME DETENTION.

2. Monday after school soloists in music room 3:20 pm.It's gonna go on till everyone gets their parts right.

3. Tuesday-- TBA

4. Wednesday after school everyone in the hall at 3:20pm. Let's hope we finish by 5.

5. Thursday rehearsal after school everyone in the hall right after you're let out of your lessons. Mrs. Bohm will be running it. EVERYONE MUST BE THERE. If you can't make it pls contact one of us.

6. Friday dress rehearsal after school, run by Mrs Bohm. Everyone there on time, EVERYONE. It's planned to end at 6, but from past experience it'll go onto at least 7.
